SITUATION
Royal Gateway is one of the most popular alcoholic beverage producers in Thailand. Recently, the company decided to enter the non-alcoholic beverage market, a growing but highly competitive segment. It wanted to ensure that its new non-alcoholic drinks would have the same quality as its alcoholic portfolio.
ACTION
They submitted their new non-alcoholic drink, the Garden EDEN, an apple flavoured sparkling drink, to an organoleptic sensory analysis at the Taste Institute. The product scored high on all sensory criteria and the comments from the sommeliers were positive.
RESULTS
The decision to launch was taken and, shortly after launch, the Garden EDEN had been listed in major retailers as Tesco Lotus and Makro Food Service. Sampling campaigns were under way.
